The Goals of the Archdiocese

Because of the overwhelming problems of health care, the first priority of the Archdiocese is to improve the present medical facilities and to provide adequate services to all who ask for help.  To this end, the Archdiocese has been outreaching throughout the world for funds and medical equipment and personnel, as well as supplies.  It has had limited success in this regard, both because of the world recession and the competition for funds by areas with more notoriety.

There are many things the Archdiocese can do to improve medical care without funds, and it is gradually but regularly improving the systems within the medical community and establishments.

Believing in the principle of a healthy body in a healthy mind, the Archdiocese, through the Archdiocesan Development and Social Services office, has embarked on programmes to improve education, agriculture, and the overall social and economic conditions of the people of Tororo.

In order to better the lives of the Ugandan people, the Archdiocese of Tororo is undertaking the establishment of technical institutions and home craft centers where both the youths and the adults of Uganda can be trained in practical methods of improving their community conditions.
