Tororo Archdiocese is one of nineteen Catholic dioceses in Uganda. It borders the northern shores of Lake Victoria, sharing the border with Kenya to the east. The Archdiocese, which covers an area of 3500 square miles, contains five administrative districts: Kapchorwa, in the northeast portion of the Archdiocese; Mbale, in the center of the Archdiocese; Busia and Tororo, in the southern section; and Pallisa in the northwest.
The terrain within the Archdiocese varies greatly. Both Kapchorwa
and Mbale share an area including the second highest mountain in East Africa
(with altitudes between 1,500 and 4,700 meters). Busia, Pallisa and
Tororo, on the other hand, are relatively flat, with gentle hills and rockier
terrain.
The Archdiocese is generally in the area of Mbale.
